Amazon has recently updated its iOS Alexa app to have the ability to add a widget to the home screen.
The voice assistant can now be called via the home screen and has a new functionality that reminds household members to do their tasks via the ‘assign reminders’ skill.
Once the widget is placed on a screen and allowed mic permission, users can make requests with a single tap. The update features a new level of granularity and lets you assign reminders to specific people if they have Voice Profile enabled on the same Alexa account.
Using the widget, a user can now remind another to open the lights at 6 pm, for example and that user will be sent a notification. Profiles can be added to Settings, then Your Profile. Further customization can be added, such as assigning nicknames, e.g., daughter, dad, mom, etc. for easier and more natural commands.
