In today’s world, social consciousness is at the forefront of everything. Everyone wants to be an agent for change, and many people are. However, in the nightlife industry, there are far too few who are actively trying to make things better for everyone. 27 billion U.S. dollars thankfully, ones like Mr. David S. Chung have stepped up to the plate and brought together a team of people who share his beliefs and goals. The result? An inclusive nightlife community spanning seven different locations across the DMV area that caters to people of all races and sexualities. Let’s take a look at how Mr. Chung made this happen…
Why is the D.C. area so exclusive?
While the D.C. area isn’t particularly more exclusive than other major cities, it does have a few factors that make it a little less inclusive than most. For example, many D.C. clubs are situated in the historically black part of town. Since the Civil Rights Act of 1964, these clubs have been protected from racial discrimination, but it can be hard to find other clubs that cater to non-black crowds. Unfortunately, this has led to some clubs being less inclusive than others. Additionally, the city itself is relatively small, which can make it hard to find a club that caters to everyone’s tastes. While D.C. is a wonderful city and is full of many great people, its nightlife scene isn’t as inclusive as it could be.
Chung’s mission to change this
David S. Chung is the CEO and founder of Suite 1622, a luxury (@styvesdc) nightclub in the heart of downtown D.C. that caters to all people of all races, sexualities, genders, and religions. He’s done this by hiring a team of staff members who are passionate about helping build a more inclusive and equal society. They do this by actively encouraging their customers to bring diverse groups of people with them to the club. They also host special events, such as the women-only Ladies’ Night, where they actively encourage and promote inclusivity. In fact, they’re so passionate about being inclusive that they even have a code of conduct that has been approved by the D.C. Human Rights Office.
What Chung is doing to make nights out more inclusive
In order to become more inclusive, a club has to actively welcome and accept people of all backgrounds. That includes people of all races and sexualities. That’s why Mr. Chung has implemented a few policies at his club that (@abigailnightclub) ensure everyone feels comfortable there. For example, he requires all of his staff members to wear nametags so that customers can easily identify and connect with them. He also requires that all of his security guards wear nametags as well as badges with photos of their faces so that they can communicate with customers more easily. These policies ensure that no one is being discriminated against based on their appearance.
Conclusion
Suite 1622 has become the ultimate nightclub for everyone. It’s an inclusive and safe environment where people can party, make new friends, and feel comfortable being themselves. Mr. Chung has done a wonderful job building a team of people who are passionate about their cause, and who are actively working towards making nights out better for everyone.
