You saw that e-liquide with a pristine label and a promising description and you decided to buy it. You got home, you serviced your atomizer, you loaded the tank, you tried it… and no. Not going. You expected something else. Anything else.
You kept trying, gave him a couple of margin tanks to see if you found something that appealed to you, but no. You didn’t find it. And we know that bottle of liquid is going to end up being given away, or if you’re not so lucky, it’s going to end up in that crate full of unfinished bottles. The old and never well-considered box of nails. The graveyard of e-liquids that you didn’t like.
The vaper who claims not to have experienced this is lying. It happened to all of us, and yet, frequently, the fault is not the liquid. Liquid is good. That’s why you read and heard so many people recommending it.
It is a matter of expectations. Let’s look at this at each stage: from the novice vaper to the elite vaper.
How to choose my first vaping liquid?
Every day we receive inquiries from new vapers who are looking for an experience similar to a conventional cigarette. That particular taste. And we understand them. They look for something that is as similar as possible to cigarettes, but less harmful.
If you feel like you need something similar to cigarettes, go that route. Later on, you will probably be curious to try fruity e-liquids or desserts, or even new tobacco products but with different nuances from those of conventional cigarettes. Do not hurry. Each palate is different, and the choice of the best e-liquid is completely subjective.
Expectation vs. Reality
Now, going back to expectations, if what you are looking for is to quit smoking, or you have been vaping for a while and want to try new flavors, we want to help you keep your e-liquid graveyard empty. As we mentioned before, each palate is a world. The notes that one person perceives from an e-liquid are not necessarily going to be perceived by another. Or maybe yes, but not in the same way or with the same intensity.
That is why it is very difficult to rely on descriptions. These work as a guide. They generate a reference, but they also generate expectations that often fall before the subjectivity of each palate. To play it safe and keep your e-liquid graveyard empty, the best thing you can do before buying an e-liquid is to try it out.
We know that trying an e-liquid in our country is not always possible. There are practically no stores open to the street and of the few that exist, almost none have a liquid tester as in other countries. Especially in these times of extreme health protocols. But we can always turn to vapers or vaping friends to exchange liquids, try new varieties and then buy with the certainty that we are going to vape every last drop of that bottle.
Or better yet, we can turn to tasting sets, which are usually made up of 10ml samples of several different e-liquids so we can see which one we like and which one we don’t, without wasting a 60ml or 120ml bottle.
The misfortune of getting nailed with an imported e-liquid.
Historically in our country there is the false belief that imported liquids are infinitely richer than national liquids. And to understand this we have to differentiate GOOD from RICH and BAD from UGLY.
Whether an e-liquid is good or bad depends on its manufacture. Of the conditions in which they are prepared, of the quality of the raw material, of the form and time of homogenization. If you are looking for a good liquid, focus on the manufacturing methods. The safer the process, the better the result will be.
In summary…
The only way to keep your e-liquid graveyard empty is to try before you buy. We know that trying e-liquids in our country is not an easy task, but you can always resort to vaping gatherings, exchange liquids with friends to try.
